Progress Built on Positive Relationships.

Our Approach

Providing opportunities for growth in a real-world and functional context

Children need to be engaged to learn. Our priorities are engagement, play, and building strong relationships. These foundations allow us to break down barriers to participation and support children through challenges. The farm provides a safe, supportive, and sensory-rich environment for children to take risks, make mistakes, and learn how to adapt. Motivation plays a key role in learning to adapt to the challenges of different environments. We provide many opportunities for children to contribute to our community, whether this be helping care for our animals or bringing in a special interest project.

Encouraging children to set their own goals and find their own passions

We provide opportunities for children to discover their strengths and use them in creative ways to facilitate skill development. Through leisure exploration, arts and crafts, and ample activities to explore animals, nature, and the outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities for our clients to identify what truly drives them. Some of our favorite activities include glass mosaic projects, candle making, knitting and crocheting, gardening, and caring for our farm animals. We are committed to meeting your child at their current level of ability and empowering them to take ownership over their goals and passions.

Empowering families to confidently support their children at home

We fully believe that families have the skills and capacity to support their children at home and in the community. Our focus in on parent education, collaboration, and involvement to ensure parents have the confidence to implement strategies themselves. Children are not meant to be in therapy forever. We believe in not over-diagnosing or overtreating, but embracing all children with their unique strengths and challenges. Our enrichment opportunities allow us to continue to provide a safe and joyful environment for children to participate even after discharge from a formal therapy program.

"I am honestly not sure how to put into words how amazing Quincy Farms really is! The first day we met Amy and Audra we knew this was where we needed to be. The "package" structure for payment has been amazing. And the freedom we have with customizing my son's goals has been incredible. We have since transitioned to Kindergarten and I can confidently say that it has been a smooth transition because of Quincy Farms. PLUS who doesn't love to hang with chickens, pet bunnies and goats, and swing on rope swings?!"

FAQs

  • We provide farm-based enrichment activities to support skill development, self-confidence, and participation. We differ from traditional OT services in the following ways:

    • We do not conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and write-ups

    • We do not establish and track formal goals, rather we collaborate with families to determine one priority goal area at a time

    • We do not bill insurance for any of our clients

    • Due to the lack of insurance constraints, we are not limited by interventions or goals that are considered “reimbursable”

    • We are not required to discharge for a lack of formal or documentable progress. Instead we work with families to determine if we feel there is a benefit to attending

  • As we have deviated from the medical model, we have discontinued all our insurance contracts, including Medicaid. However, we need to remain updated on your family's Medicaid enrollment status, as this impacts the types of services we are allowed to provide.

  • Changes to monthly subscriptions can be made at any time prior to the billing date for the upcoming month by emailing Audra at audra@quincyfarmslittleton.com

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for missed or cancelled visits. This is what allows us to keep our prices low to continue serving as many families as possible.

  • We do not provide a superbill for families to submit to insurances on our behalf. Farm-based enrichment activities are not considered a covered service and are therefore not billable through insurance.
